Jorge Menéndez Diaz

Founder of Menuce Architecture Design & Urbanism

    George Menéndez, Founder, CEO and Executive Consultant of Menuce S.A. since 1978 has also served as Consultant Director in many other fields. His interests have always focused on international contemporary architecture, cities in evolution and changes in the role of the architect.

 

     Prior creating and during Menuce he was associated with different well re-known architects and healthy businesses. During his tenure at Concasa Construction & Fañabe Urban Plan, for example, his responsibilities involved construction, management, financing, marketing and merchandise of the developed urban and singular projects. He also participated in the ground-breaking companies such as tabaco Corona, Honda, Reina Oro, etc.

     Finances, decision making, design, functionality, façade, calculations and design materials are his main strengths. He has appeared in many local architectural reviews and magazines while also having become a well re-known public figure representing the Canary Islands & Spanish architecture around the world. Through interviews he has been author of numerous articles for architectural journals and encyclopaedias. In addition, himself and his team have won many architectural competitions.

    Consequently George has met many different public role models such as presidents, prominent architects, ministers, Urban councillors, etc. Jorge Menéndez Diaz received a Bachelor of Architecture degree in Urban Affairs & Construction Techniques from the Complutense University of Barcelona at Catalonia, Spain. He undertook additional studies at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Polytechnique University of Madrid. In addition, he has served on international juries for the architectural and Urban awards. He has also lectured and assisted with international architectural competitions.
